A letter from our founder . . .

My fellow Small Business Owners:

I would like to open by wishing you the greatest of success in 2010. I am a firm believer that entrepreneurs like us will be the backbone of our Nation’s economic recovery. It is with that same spirit that I compose this letter. Many thanks in advance for giving me a few minutes of your time.

In order to set the stage, I’d like to share with you a bit of my personal history. In December of 1990 at the age of eleven I received a life-changing gift. Under the tree that Holiday season was my first computer, a Macintosh LC from Apple. This state of the art machine came complete with a 16 MHz processor, 10Mb of RAM and an eye catching 12" RGB monitor. I was so consumed by the possibilities this device could offer that only twelve years later I would graduate with a degree in Information Systems from the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University. My first position in the professional world would lead me through several rapid promotions to the role of VP & Director of Information Technology at a mid-size manufacturing firm by the age of 25.

My experiences over the past eighteen years have compelled me to form a different type of technology services company – Boomtown CIO.  I believe the needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs) are not being met by the current time & materials or scope/project based models that are offered by most IT outsourcing or consulting firms.
